Connect your Bank of Sydney Accounts to Xero

Link your Bank of Sydney accounts to Xero to send your transaction data to your accounting software each day. This helps reduce manual data entry and keeps your records up to date for faster reconciliation and clearer reporting. 

Once connected, your transaction data will be shared daily with Xero, giving you greater visibility of your cash flow and more time to focus on running your business.

 

How to connect your account 

To connect your Bank of Sydney account/s to Xero via Internet Banking please refer to the following steps:

  1. Log in to Internet Banking via banksyd.com.au 
  2. Click ‘Profile & Settings’ in the side menu 
  3. Click the ‘Xero Integration’ button 
  4. Click the ‘Log In To Continue’ button 
  5. Log into Xero via the pop up window, you may also need to set up additional verification. 
  6. Once your Bank of Sydney Online Banking has been connected and appears on the Xero Integration screen, click ‘Add Accounts’  
  7. Select the account/s you’d like to connect to Xero, then click ‘Confirm’ 
  8. Enter the 6-digit security code (OTP) that was sent to your mobile phone, and click ‘Confirm’. 

Once connected, you will receive a confirmation SMS to your mobile phone. 

Your transaction data from the date of connection will sync overnight and be available in Xero the next day. 

Note: Xero connection is only available via Internet Banking (not available in Mobile Banking) 

 

Managing your Xero connection 

You can manage your connection at any time through Internet Banking, including: 

  • View connected accounts 
  • Add or remove Bank of Sydney accounts from Xero
  • Remove your Bank of Sydney Xero connection

Important information 

Complete your transaction history in Xero 


If you had previous Xero connection, transaction data up to and including 20 March 2026 has been shared. 

When you set up your new connection in Internet Banking, your Bank of Sydney accounts will begin sharing transaction data with Xero each day from that date moving forward.   

To ensure your records are complete, you can upload transactions from 21 March 2026 up to the day your new connection is established. To upload transaction data to Xero: 

  1. Log in to Bank of Sydney’s Internet Banking and download a transaction listing (in excel format) for the period required. 
  2. Manually upload transaction data into Xero, refer to the Xero website for more information.
