Employee Stories

Andrew Ladas Relationship Manager – Premium Banking

I have been in Banking for 47 years - 27 years with a major bank and 20 years with Bank of Sydney. The difference with working at a smaller bank is that you are valued, not just a number. You’re able to meet executives on a regular basis, get to know the business leaders and have access to them if the need arises to get your job done and keep the customer happy.

We provide Premium Relationship Banking which our customers appreciate as they can ring our mobile number and speak directly with us. The Bank also sponsors many community organisations and events which helps foster existing and new relationships.

Stella Grilis Head of Strategy and Execution

I have been with Bank of Sydney for 20 years, and consider it my second family! My professional career began with the Bank as a Finance Graduate. I was able to learn the workings of the payments systems which was a great base to move into my next roles in Management, Financial and Regulatory reporting. In 2018 I was looking to expand my knowledge and try something new. I was successful in obtaining a position in Risk and Compliance focusing on Credit and Liquidity Risk and more recently I have used my experience to become the Head of Strategy and Execution.

The Bank supported my studies to become a CPA and is committed to growing its people through continual training, courses and workshops. I’ve had the privilege of working with great managers and leaders who became my mentors and assisted my development personally and professionally. I have developed life-long friendships, with many colleagues who have enriched my life in one way or another. The greatest part of working for a smaller bank such as Bank of Sydney is not only the people but the knowledge and education you are able to gain from working closely with all teams across the organisation and the satisfaction obtained from knowing you made a difference and contributed to its success.
