Bank of Sydney Announces Changes to Interest Rates

In response to the Reserve Bank of Australia’s cash rate increase on Tuesday 3 November 2026, Bank of Sydney has announced it will increase its standard variable lending rates by 0.25% for existing home and business loans and continue to offer special rates for new customers seeking a first home loan or refinancing support for borrowers who are actively reducing their mortgage debt and seeking better value from their banking relationship.

Furthermore, the interest rate for its Business Saver account will increase by 0.25% p.a., to 4.60% p.a. for balances over $10,000 to help its business customers make the most of their savings and improve cash flow.

Following the previous RBA cash rate increase of 0.25% announced in September 2026, Bank of Sydney increased the BOS Saver rate by 0.50%, providing customers with an increase above the change in the cash rate. Following the most recent RBA decision, the interest rate will increase by a further 0.15%.

The interest rate changes take effect from 17 November, giving customers time to understand and prepare for the change.

Bank of Sydney Chief Executive Officer Kieran McKenna said the bank’s focus is on supporting customers as they navigate today’s tough economic conditions.

“In a rising rate environment, many Australians will be reassessing their household expenses, including whether they can secure a better deal on their home loan. We want to support eligible borrowers looking to refinance or take the first step into the property market.

“Across our business and retail customers, our dedicated relationship managers work with customers to understand their individual circumstances and financing needs, and we remain committed to helping those who may need additional support,” said Mr Mckenna.
