Bank of Sydney Announces Changes to Interest Rates

In response to the Reserve Bank of Australia’s cash rate increase on Tuesday 29th September 2026, Bank of Sydney has announced it will increase the interest rate on its BOS Saver Account by 0.50% p.a., to 5.25% p.a. without conditions attached, effective Friday 2nd October 2026.

Bank of Sydney will increase its standard variable lending rates by 0.25% for existing home and business loans from Thursday 15 October 2026 and continues to offer special rates for new customers refinancing with a loan-to-value ratio below 60%, supporting borrowers who are actively reducing their mortgage debt and seeking better value from their banking relationship.

Kieran McKenna, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Sydney, said the Bank remains committed to helping customers navigate a challenging economic environment through personalised service and competitive products.

"Cost of living pressures continue to weigh on Australian households and small businesses, and every rate change has a real impact on customers' finances. That's why we’re pleased to swiftly pass on this great rate to savers, helping customers grow their savings, while continuing to offer competitive lending solutions for customers who are actively paying down their mortgage or looking to refinance."

All affected lending customers will receive a direct notification outlining their new interest rate and repayment details.
