Bank of Sydney appoints Kieran McKenna as Chief Executive Officer

The Bank of Sydney Board today announced the appointment of Kieran McKenna as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 July, 2026.

Mr McKenna has been Acting CEO since 3 November 2025 and now takes on the role permanently.

Bank of Sydney Chair Nikolas Hatzistergos said Mr McKenna’s leadership during a time of major change for the bank made him the clear choice for the role.

"Kieran is an experienced banking leader who successfully steered one of the most significant milestones in our organisation's history, delivering our core banking transition on time and within agreed parameters."

Mr McKenna joined Bank of Sydney in 2024 as Chief Risk Officer, before being appointed Acting CEO in 2025. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the Australian financial services sector, including leadership roles at Cuscal, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and the ASX.
