Bank of Sydney Credit Cards are no longer available for use as of 25 May 2024.*

To manage any outstanding balance on a Bank of Sydney Credit Card account:

  • Pay or transfer the full closing balance on your statement to close your credit card account. Noting that if you have made recent transactions these may be pending and affect your final closing balance.
  • If there is no balance or pending transactions, your credit card account will be automatically closed.
  • If you need support managing your repayment, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss options available to manage your outstanding balance. If you’re experiencing financial hardship, please click here.

It is important that Bank of Sydney Credit Card Account holders complete the following:

  • Destroy the Bank of Sydney Mastercard in your name and any belonging to secondary cardholders.
  • Review any scheduled debits and credits and make alternative arrangements to ensure you do not incur dishonour or late payment fees.
  • Remind any secondary cardholders.

Bank of Sydney has removed our Credit Card product from the credit card market to focus on our strategic priorities in Deposits and Lending.

Note that Bank of Sydney Credit Cards have predominately been used for transactions which may be supported by alternative products and services available.

It is also acknowledged many of our existing credit card customers also have a credit card with another Financial Institution.

In January 2024, all Primary Credit Card holders were advised in writing (via direct mail) that their Bank of Sydney Credit Card would no longer be available from 25 May 2024, providing 4 months’ notice.

Existing Bank of Sydney Platinum Mastercard customers will earn rewards on their spend until the 25 May 2024, when the Credit Card will no longer be available for use. Rewards will be paid out to account holders (if applicable), as per the standard rewards payment method and schedule.

 

The insurance benefits attached to the Bank of Sydney Platinum Mastercard will no longer be available upon account closure. If you have used you Bank of Sydney Platinum Mastercard for future travel insurance purposes, please make alternate travel insurance arrangements.
