Helping Kids in Need of Mobile Devices

Bank of Sydney is launching its back-to-school mobile device donation drive, in partnership with our 2025 Grant for Good Winner, The Reconnect Project, to help close the digital divide for disadvantaged school-age children.

The Reconnect Project refurbishes the donated mobile devices, diverting them from landfill and re-homing them with families, individuals, and community groups across Australia.

Between 29 January - 28 February 2026, all Bank of Sydney branches will accept collection of pre-loved digital mobile devices. Devices accepted include:

  • Laptops (less than 10 years old)
  • Smartphones
  • Tablets

Please note that Bank of Sydney is unable to accept desktops, gaming PCs, computer towers, monitors, or printers.

Important Steps to Complete before Donating your Mobile Device

Before bringing your device into the branch, donors are required to remove all personal data by performing a full factory reset. This helps protect your privacy and ensures devices can be safely accepted and processed.

For step-by-step instructions on how to prepare your device, please visit The Reconnect Project – Preparing your device for donation.

Where to Donate your Mobile Device

Devices (that have had a full factory reset) can be dropped off at:

  • Any Bank of Sydney Branch (noting you will need to complete a Digital Device Acknowledgement Form, or
  • The Reconnect Project’s authorised donation stations or
  • Mailed directly to The Reconnect Project by requesting a reply-paid postage label from Bank of Sydney.
