BOS end of year message

2018 has been an extremely exciting year for Bank of Sydney. The opening of our newest branch in Chatswood was hugely successful and the perfect way to kick off the year. In March, we also launched an on boarding solution for new customers setting up online term deposits – it was instant hit and we were proud to deliver a solution that improved the customer experience.

Our position in the retail market has gone from strength to strength this year, with above-market loan and deposit growth. This success is backed by a third consecutive year winning prestigious Money magazine awards and Canstar accolades. 

2018 has also been a year of change. Our digital achievements over the past 12 months will enable us to improve our interactions with customers wherever they may be – remotely or in our branches. We want to thank you, our customers, for supporting us during this period of growth. We couldn’t have achieved as much as we did this year without you.

Our investment program will accelerate in 2019 as we remain committed to being Australia’s leading people-focused bank. To achieve this, we revamped our organisational structure and redefined our operations area. By aligning all our delivery channels under Mr Fawaz Sankari, Chief Banking Officer, while also creating the role of Chief Customer Officer for Chrystalla Vougamalis, we have been able to create a more streamlined and customer-friendly Bank of Sydney.

As I’m sure you know, the banking market is changing fast. Fintechs and challenger banks are scouting for positions amongst traditional players, so we truly do appreciate you banking with us. We will continue to work hard in 2019 to expand our capabilities and take advantage of every opportunity to provide you with a better experience.

When reflecting on the year, we are proud of our achievements as a team. However none of it would have been possible without the commitment and hard work of every person involved with Bank of Sydney, from our Group Chairman Dr Salim Sfeir to our newest customer.

So here’s thanks to you: our communities, our customers, our colleagues, our board and our shareholder group.
