Bank of Sydney has joined famed Greek-American actress Nia Vardalos and a group of participating companies in support of the Greek Crisis Relief campaign

Bank of Sydney recognizes the impact of the crisis on the youth in particular and will be offering 2 internships to graduates from Greece in an effort to give them the necessary experience and skills to find employment in their homeland.

With the Greek Crisis Relief campaign, Australian businesses will be providing internship opportunities for unemployed Greek graduates under a program launched by the recently-formed Australian branch of The Hellenic Initiative.

“We are delighted that Australian companies have come on board to provide this opportunity to bright Greek graduates who have been hit hard by the economic situation in Greece,” said THI Australia Co-President Nick Mitaros.

“With more than 50 percent unemployment among young Greeks with graduate and post-graduate education, this is a critical time to invest in Greece’s human capital. “Through placements in Australian businesses, these interns will develop new skills, mindsets and capabilities and return to Greece armed with this unique experience, Mr Mitaros said.
