Miltos Michaelas has a deep understanding of the Australian banking system, having also previously served as the General Manager of our Bank between 2001 and 2006.

Miltos assumed the leadership of Bank of Sydney in 2001 and achieved stellar results within a relatively short period, building a healthy loan and deposit book, a strong and cohesive senior management team and achieving the break-even point within only 13 months.  

A hands-on, results-driven, strategist leader with a highly successful track record in international banking and extremely demanding environments, Miltos brings with him extensive skills and experiences which will prove to be vital in leading our Bank through yet another period of responsible growth.

Mr. Michaelas joins Bank of Sydney as CEO having successfully led the international bank network of Bank of Cyprus Public Co Ltd as Director- International Operations. He was a member of the Group’s Executive Committee with several Board memberships including Bank of Cyprus (UK) Ltd and BOC (Channel Islands) Ltd.

Mr. Michaelas graduated from Aston University with a BSc (Joint Honours) in Management and Computer Science (First Class Honours) and with an MBA in Financial Services (with Distinction) from Nottingham University. He is a member of the Institute of Directors UK with a Diploma in Company Direction and has been an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB).
